Welcome to Defenders in Exile! We are thrilled to have you here as part of our community. Our mission is to bring global awareness to the human rights crisis in Venezuela and advocate for the restoration of democracy, institutional integrity, and the rule of law. Who We Are
We are a network of Venezuelan human rights defenders living in exile, dedicated to advocating for the respect and protection of fundamental rights, the restoration of democracy, institutional integrity, and the rule of law. As an independent voice, we raise global awareness about the ongoing crisis in Venezuela. Our work is entirely voluntary and driven by our love for our country and our dream of restoring its democracy and institutions.
How We Work
In our mission to shed light on the Venezuelan crisis, we write and publish insightful articles about the current events in Venezuela. To protect our identities and ensure the safety of our families who remain in Venezuela, we use pseudonyms. Each pseudonym comes with its own character, personality, and backstory, making our articles more engaging and accessible, despite the complex nature of the topics we cover.
How our Site is Structured
Our website is currently under development as we have just begun this important project. Our goal is to provide two types of content:
- Legal explanatory content about Venezuela's constitutional structure, various government bodies, and their functions and responsibilities.
- Expository articles that cover specific issues in an informative and compelling manner.
All our content is organized by the relevant governmental authority. For example, judiciary matters are found under the Judiciary Power section, electoral matters under the Electoral Power, legislative matters under the Legislative Power, and so on. Additionally, we provide links within our content to help readers access complementary or clarifying information easily.
Additionally, all the content in our website will be offered in 7 languages (english, spanish, french, portuguese, italian, german and norwegian). Our small team is doing its best to bring this content to more languages in the future.
